Job Description: Microsoft EM+S Support Evangelist

Reporting to: Service Operations Manager

Expected start date: June 2022

Location: Hybrid role remote & Remote

Primary Objective

The primary objective of the Microsoft EM+S/Defender Support Evangelist is to have meaningful conversations with customers around the Microsoft EM+S and M365 Defender product stack.

The role will encompass upskilling the current support team on all components of the EM+S stack. The ideal candidate will have worked in a Level 3 or Consultancy capacity supporting the Microsoft Enterprise Mobility and Security product stack and be able to evangelise the product set to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune)
  •  Defender for Endpoint
  • Defender for Cloud Apps (MCAS)
  •  Conditional Access
  •  W10 deployment and configuration
  •  Autopilot deployment
  •  Optimisation of enrolment of iOS and Android endpoints

Fulfilment of managed service activities such as:

  •  Environment Health-checks and presenting these back to customers
  • Quarterly M365 attack simulation exercises
  • New feature launches
  • Optimisation of deployed feature set
  • Troubleshooting complex issues that cannot be resolved by level 2 skillset
  • Escalate complex issues to Microsoft
  • Increase knowledge and skillset across the service operations team
  •  Provide training to customers on deployed solutions
  •  Work with assigned customer success manager and service assurance manager to flag any risks within the account or give ideas on meaningful conversations that can be had to create new opportunities
  • Review customer Service Review reports and add relevant commentary where appropriate
  •  Build strong relationships with key customers based on professionalism and strong work ethic
  • Build strong relationships with counterparts in partner channels to deliver services to customers
  •  Constant self-improvement through experience, training and certification

Skills/Experience Recommended

The ideal candidate will have hands on experience of the below Microsoft technologies and will have deployed and supported these across a number of customer environments.

  • SCCM
  • Windows 10
  • Azure AD Connect
  • Endpoint Manager
  • M365 Defender

Minimum 5-6 years relevant experience, preferably a mix of security and systems integration
3rd level qualification in computer science or technical discipline

  • Experience deploying or managing Modern Workplace solutions such Microsoft EM+S product suite
  • Experience deploying or managing Windows 10 devices
  • Knowledge of enrolment programmes such as Microsoft Autopilot

Knowledge of other technologies that will assist in the role however SCCM, Windows10, Azure AD and Endpoint Manager are the most important ones and precede these:

M365 Defender including:

  • Defender for Endpoint
  • Defender for Office 365
  • Defender for Cloud Apps
    Microsoft Office 365 including:
  • Exchange Online
  • SharePoint Online
  •  OneDrive
    Active Directory or other LDAP based directories
  •  A rudimentary understanding of networking and firewalls will also aide in the role
  • Microsoft specific accreditations such as M365 Security Associate, M365 Admin Expert or MCSE an advantage.

Also, exams such as:

  • MS100
  • MS101
  • MS500

  • Always going the ‘extra mile’ with customers to improve business relationships and potentially up-sell

  • Strong ability to problem solve, see issues to their resolution and work to prevent re-occurrence
  • Avid interest in technology, particularly smartphones
  • Like working with customers of varying size and experience
  • Love of engineering
