The new iPhone 12

Hi, Speed. Hi, Camera. Hi, MagSafe. October 13, 2020, Apple invited the world to Apple Park to unveil its new iPhone 12 lineup. The 12 series include the very first 5G-ready iPhones enabling a whole new mobile experience with better connectivity and higher speeds. At the center of the flagship devices sits a new silicon: the A14 Bionic. Faster and more energy efficient than ever before.

The 5G-readiness combined with the ultra fast A14 Bionic creates high capacity computing platform connected to ‘everything’ at the highest possible speeds. With the Lidar sensor, that maps the real world in three dimensions, new business opportunities arise in many different domains. The sensor set is completed with a new and improved camera set. The iPhone 12 ‘sees’ everything.

The iPhone 12 also ‘shows’ everything through its innovative Super Retina XDR Display. The high resolution and dynamic screen enables stunning graphics performance, increasing user adoption within the business. All displays are equipped with a Ceramic Shield, drastically increasing durability. With a four times better drop performance, display repairs within your organization will also ‘drop’, freeing up budgets for what really matters.

The new MagSafe feature of the iPhone 12 enables external accessories to easily snap into place and attach to the smartphone. At time of launch there are several accessories available, including a MagSafe cover and MagSafe Wallet to store credit cards. The initial purpose of the MagSafe connection is to supercharge the iPhone wireless, that requires a perfectly aligned  MagSafe charging pad, hence the magnets.

Good to know the iPhone 12 series doesn’t come with a charger or EarPods. This reduces the environmental impact. The iPhone ships with only a USB-C to Lightning cable. The iPhone 12 series includes 4 models, the based model features  a screen size of 5.4″, the iPhone 12 Pro Max goes up to 6,7″.

In the below graphic you can see a comparison between the new iPhone 12 Mini, the current iPhone SE 2e Gen and previous iPhone SE 1e Gen. The overall device size has decreased compared to the iPhone SE 2e Gen and the screen size increased dramatically compared to all previous SE models. Although there is an important price difference, we do expect to see the iPhone 12 Mini taking an important market share in business due the top performance of the A14 Bionic and 5G platform.

All models can be ordered at mobco with a starting price of 669Euro for the base model. The iPhone 12 comes in 5 colours and houses 64, 128 or 256GB of memory. The display size of the iPhone 12 Mini is 5.4″ and 6.1″ for the iPhone 12 available mid November. The iPhone 12 Pro is available in 4 colours and doubles the memory capacity starting at 128GB up to 512GB. Available now at mobco!
